Kia, a pioneer brand in the use of sustainable materials

  • Kia doesn’t just talk about recycling, the brand goes further by actively using recycled plastic materials and other sustainable elements for the production of its vehicles.

Over the past decade, the brand has aimed to maximise the impact of this initiative by generating sustainable materials on a large scale and introducing them into all its new models within three main areas: colour, material and finish

In the Kia EV6, yarn obtained by shredding and processing plastic bottles is used for the door pockets, crash pad decorations and auxiliary mats. In addition, the Kia Niro’s headliner trim material is made by mixing 56% recycled PET into non-woven fabric, and the cargo liner is also made by mixing 70% recycled PET into knitted material. Today, every Kia EV9 incorporates at least 70 recycled bottles.

Nature holds so much potential. There are still many innovations to be discovered in the environment, so exploring and protecting nature will secure our future. Kia will continue to promote the use of sustainable technologies and will continue to be part of all initiatives that guarantee and ensure a greener future for humanity.
